customized functional medicine & therapy programs
We create personalized plans based on a holistic, root-cause medicine approach.
Whether you need individualized treatment or are interested in group therapy, or a one-time class, our programs will give you the tools and support you need to get back into a state of balance and wellness.

The Functional Medicine approach initially focuses on the foundational importance of diet, sleep, exercise, stress management, and our relationships. It also frequently uses commercially available and advanced lab testing to dig deeper towards the root causes of health imbalances and provides a template for how to begin to rebalance and repair. Testing is done only as it is needed and can include many labs available and covered by insurance as well as advanced functional medicine testing. These include stool testing, urine organic acid testing, advanced metabolic screens and hormone panels, as well as specialized toxicology screens.

Dr. Flagel works with two board certified health coaches, Heather Flagel and Tara Flannery, who use character strengths and positive psychology to provide the support needed to make challenging nutritional and lifestyle changes a reality. He finds those who work with the coaches are usually the folks to make the most rapid improvements!
We are in the process of creating group visits designed to help people access specific programs and create a supportive environment. Using the power of groups and social change, our goal is to create an environment of caring accountability, where members can feel comfortable celebrating changes as well as provide support and ideas when obstacles are bigger than anticipated. We are frequently adding new groups when they may become useful. Please let us know if you’re interested in participating!
This 6-8 member group is designed to teach about dietary changes clinically shown to improve health. A food plan is provided at the first session and the group is 1 part education and 2 parts support and problem solving. It utilizes an anti-inflammatory, nutrient dense diet to make lasting changes in mood, energy and immune balance. Members will be admitted on a rolling basis.
This is a one time class designed to walk you through assessing your symptoms and biomarkers. The process involves creating your own map to help you know where the most important areas may be for you to assess. At the end, you will receive a specific food plan that corresponds to your personalized map that may primarily address cardiometabolic health, detoxification needs, balancing inflammation, or mitochondrial health!
